Recipe makes 15 pieces (5 servings, 3 pieces each)
Ingredients:
For the dough:
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
2 oz cream cheese
3/4 cup almond flour
1 large egg
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp dried oregano
For the Ground Beef Filling:
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
Salt and pepper to taste
2 Tbsp tomato paste
2 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley
1 Tbsp olive oil
Instructions:
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until softened.
Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain the meat and place back on the stovetop.
Stir in the ground cumin, paprika, cinnamon, salt, and pepper. Cook for another minute.
Add the tomato paste and chopped parsley to the beef mixture, stirring until well combined. Remove from heat and set aside.
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the shredded mozzarella cheese and cream cheese. Microwave in 30-second intervals until the cheese is melted and can be stirred together smoothly.
Add the almond flour, egg, salt, garlic powder, and dried oregano to the melted cheese mixture. Mix until a dough forms. Place the dough between two sheets of parchment paper and roll it out into a thin rectangle. Cut the rolled out dough into small squares, about 2-3 inches in size.
Place a spoonful of the ground beef mixture onto each square of dough.
Fold the edges of the dough up and over the filling to create a small pocket or boat shape.
Transfer the assembled sfeeha to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and cooked through.
Once baked, remove the sfeeha from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Serve warm and enjoy your delicious Keto-friendly sfeeha with your favorite side salad or dipping sauce.
