Buffalo Wings with Low-Carb Ranch Sauce

Recipe makes 4 servings

Ingredients:

For the Buffalo Wings:
12 chicken wings (fresh or frozen)
1 Tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon onion powder
Salt and black pepper to taste
½ cup buffalo sauce (sugar-free)

For the Homemade Ranch Sauce:
½ cup sour cream
½ cup mayonnaise (avocado oil- or olive-oil based, if possible)
¼ cup heavy cream (for a creamier texture)
1 Tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1 teaspoon dried dill
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
Salt and black pepper to taste
Chives, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. This will help them crisp up in the oven.

In a large bowl, toss the wings with 1 Tablespoon olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Make sure the wings are evenly coated with the seasoning.

Arrange the wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the wings are golden brown and crispy on the outside. If you want extra crispiness, you can broil the wings for the last 2-3 minutes, keeping an eye on them to avoid burning.

Once the wings are done, remove them from the oven and place them in a large bowl. Pour the buffalo sauce over the wings and toss them until fully coated.

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the sour cream, mayonnaise, heavy cream, lemon juice, parsley, dill, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. For a creamier texture, you can adjust the amount of heavy cream to your liking. The heavy cream will give the ranch dressing a richer, more indulgent consistency.

Taste the ranch sauce and adjust the seasoning if necessary, adding more salt, pepper, or lemon juice to balance the flavors.

Plate the buffalo wings and serve them with the creamy ranch sauce on the side for dipping.

If desired, garnish the wings with chopped chives or parsley for added color and flavor.
